Love Tale: A Font That Adds Heart to Branding

I recently had the chance to test Love Tale for a branding project, and it quickly became one of my favorite fonts to work with. The client was a small boutique that sells handmade jewelry and accessories, and they wanted something that felt personal, warm, and inviting. As I opened up my brand board and started sketching out logo ideas, I knew I needed a font that could convey both charm and approachability. That’s when I thought of Love Tale.

Love Tale is a dingbats font featuring tiny hearts, and it immediately caught my eye. It has this playful, almost whimsical feel that feels right at home in a creative space. The tiny hearts are subtle enough not to distract but still add a touch of love and personality. It’s the kind of font that makes you smile just looking at it, and that’s exactly what I needed for this project.

The First Mockup

I started by testing Love Tale on a few logo drafts. I paired it with a simple sans-serif typeface to balance things out. The contrast between the clean lines of the sans-serif and the cute, heart-filled dingbats worked beautifully. It added a sense of warmth without being too busy or overwhelming.

One of the first mockups I created was for the shop’s tagline. I used Love Tale as the main text, and it made the message feel more personal and heartfelt. It wasn’t just a font—it was a statement. The client loved how it reflected the brand’s mission of creating meaningful, handcrafted pieces.

From Logo to Brand Identity

As the project progressed, I began using Love Tale in various parts of the brand identity. For packaging design, I used it on product labels and tags. The tiny hearts added a nice visual detail without taking away from the overall look. It worked well on both paper and digital formats, which was great because the client also needed online assets.

I also experimented with using Love Tale in social media graphics. It looked especially good on Instagram posts and flyers where the goal was to create an emotional connection with the audience. The font helped reinforce the brand’s personality—friendly, artistic, and a little bit romantic.

When it came to website headers, I used Love Tale sparingly. It was perfect for headlines that needed a bit of flair without being too flashy. I paired it with a modern sans-serif font to keep the design clean and professional. The combination worked well, and it gave the site a cohesive yet expressive feel.

Font Pairing and Practical Use

Love Tale isn’t just for standalone use—it pairs nicely with other fonts depending on the context. In this case, I found that pairing it with a serif font like Georgia or Times New Roman added a touch of elegance. For a more contemporary look, I used it with a minimalist sans-serif like Montserrat or Open Sans.

It’s important to note that Love Tale works best as an accent font or a display font rather than a body text font. Its playful nature means it can be a bit difficult to read in large blocks of text. However, when used strategically—like in headlines, logos, or decorative elements—it adds a unique character to any design.

Another thing I appreciated about Love Tale was its versatility. It could be used in print materials like business cards and brochures, as well as in digital content like email templates and web banners. The font even supported multiple languages, which was helpful since the client had plans to expand their reach internationally.

Testing Before Committing

Before committing to a font for a full brand system, I always recommend testing it in different contexts. I created a few sample layouts using Love Tale and saw how it looked on a shop sign, a label sticker, and a homepage hero section. Each time, it performed well and maintained its charm.

I also checked the included styles and alternates to ensure there were enough options for different uses. The font had several weights and ligatures, which gave me flexibility in how I could apply it. This level of customization is a big plus for designers who want to maintain consistency across all brand assets.

Client Feedback and Final Touches

The client was thrilled with how Love Tale fit into the brand identity. They especially liked how it brought a sense of warmth and individuality to the designs. One of the final touches I added was using it in a custom-designed thank-you card for customers, which reinforced the brand’s personal touch.

Overall, Love Tale proved to be a valuable addition to the project. It wasn’t just a font—it was a tool that helped shape the brand’s personality and connect with the audience in a meaningful way. Whether you’re working on a café, boutique, or creative studio, Love Tale is worth considering for its charm, versatility, and ability to add a touch of love to your designs.
